Coupons Across Borders - Groupon Getaway Review

I love to travel! But, on a tight budget that can be tough. Last year, my husband and I ended up with a Southwest Airline flight credit that was soon to expire and started looking for an affordable trip. I found great prices on flights to Cancun, but many of the resorts would have busted our budget.

After searching multiple travel websites and options to book directly with Cancun resorts, I found a really good deal through Groupon. I had used Groupons before, but mainly at local restaurants. I had some real hesitations about booking travel to another country through Groupon. This was our first trip out of the country, and I had visions of the front desk employee looking at me with confusion saying, “Groupon? No, we don’t have your reservation.”

My worries were unfounded, it went great and saved us a ton of money!!

We stayed 3 nights in Cancun, all-inclusive through Groupon for $550!! That’s under $200 a night for two people and included all our food and drinks.

If we would have booked directly through the resort we would have paid over $700 for our 3 night stay. Using Groupon saved us nearly $200, or about 28% savings.

The All Inclusive route was also a great deal for us because we were able to leave for our trip knowing the full cost up front. This helped a ton for budgeting.

A few tips though…

  • Once you’ve made your reservation through Groupon, it’s still a good idea to call ahead and confirm your reservation.

  • Look for Groupon Promo Codes! This can save you even more.

Groupon turned out to be a safe and thrifty way to see Mexico! The unknown of booking travel through Groupon almost held me back, so I wanted to be sure to share a positive experience.

If you haven’t checked them out before, take a look at Groupon for Travel and Local Deals by clicking the box below…
